Dearest Bell House parents,
You’ve might have seen the posters up around the nursery over the past couple of weeks about the party we are having on Wednesday 6th July from 3 – 4.30pm…
There will be plenty of party game fun, fancy dress, a play dough bake off as well as a scummy party tea! If your child does not usually attend nursery on a Wednesday afternoon please feel free to bring them in – we’d love you to join us! We would ask that you let your child’s room know in advance and also that you stay with you child for the duration of the party.
We look forward to celebrating with you!
A reminder to all our parents to be aware that the High Street is closed next week whilst Surrey County Council carry out phase 2 of the street repair work. The work is expected to last 15 weeks however they are aiming to only have the High Street closed for 4 of those weeks and not all at once. In order to access the nursery via car you will need to follow the diversions. At this moment, we are afraid we don’t have details of the diversion routes but we will keep you updated as best we can.
More information can be obtained on Surrey County Council’s website here.
Ladybirds
This week we have welcomed a lot of new Ladybirds so have had plenty of group playtime and focussed a lot on comfort and reassurance. That said, our babies still loved getting messy this week with jelly play, flour play and cereal play!
Next week, we are looking forward to plenty of sensory exploration, physical activity and even more messy play! Our babies will be enjoying lots of outdoor time as well as a baby disco!
Butterflies
Butterflies have loved making giant bubbles this week and we have really enjoyed plenty of messy play with wet tissue paper, (masses of!) glitter and playdough! We have also explored numbers this week, counting in songs, dance and colours and have relished the soft play – climbing and building all the way.
We are really looking forward to spending some time exploring actions to songs and drawing simple shapes next week.
Bumblebees
This week we have been experimenting and exploring different messy plays – we went crazy with the crazy foam outside and had a mud and sand tray inside in which all sorts of animal toys were hidden! We also made some spacemen and spaceships for our “Three little men in a flying saucer” theme.
Next week we will be tracing over our names and doing lots of physical activities such as using the balancing beams, throwing and catching and clambering up the climbing frame outside!
Dragonflies
This week we have been holding our own mini Olympics with long jump, ball throwing and running races in the garden! We also enjoying taking part in a hula hoop competition and held our very own Dragonflies Car Wash – cleaning all the bikes and scooters outside! Within the class room we have baked some delicious raisin muffins, made our own puzzles and have been exploring the seasons looking at different weather. Messy play has also been high on the agenda this week with ball painting, a lot of glitter and making our own kites as well as scented playdough!
Next week the letter is d and the number is 12. The colour will be light blue and the shape a crescent. We are really looking forward to opening our own hairdressing salon and also to exploring different music and songs and how they make us feel. Volcanoes have been a hot topic this week so we will be making our own mini versions next week. The crazy soap will appear again (!) and will we pretend it’s been snowing as well as getting messy with the bubble wrap and spaghetti painting! Dragonflies will also create our own bowling alley with giant skittles!
…stays in the heart forever.
So true and another one of our favourite quotes. Thank you Mary Jo Putney…
To all the wonderful daddies out there, we hope you’re having a suitably lovely day with your little (and not so little) ones!
Ladybirds
We have really enjoyed making sensory bottles for our new black and white corner. The little Ladybirds have also really loved sponge painting this week and we have also had fun creating our Father’s Day cards. We have also had a lot of activity outside in the garden in particular exploring the sand and playing with the water!
Next week we are very excited about holding a baby disco, it should be a wonderful sensory experience for the babies! We will also be continuing our focus on sensory play and indulging in a lot of messy play too! We are especially looking forward to the jelly play and Angel Delight play too!
Butterflies
This week in Butterflies we have been playing with lots of textures! The toddlers have particularly enjoyed the flour painting, glitter lotion, glitter glue on cling film and spikey ball painting! We are very proud of our completed Queen’s Birthday board which includes plenty of sparkles, crowns and a giant flag. We have also enjoyed cooking delicious muffins and making special presents for our daddies!
Next week we will be continuing with exploring textures and making lots of time for sensory play! We will also be out in the garden playing with the sand and the water and looking at the plants as well as having plenty of messy play and story time indoors or outdoors!
Bumblebees
The Bumblebees have been playing with lots of sensory activities, making texture works of art and also making jelly to then play with! This week we have also really enjoyed looking at different story books and learning all about the ending of a story!
We are really looking forward to next week and learning how to use and play on the big climbing frame and developing our physical skills and abilities. We will also plant some cress seeds and we can’t wait to watch how they grow over the coming weeks!
Dragonflies
We have been looking at the world a lot this week and talking about different countries and their flags. We have been colouring in our own school jumper pictures and role playing going to school too. The Dragonflies have enjoyed plenty of junk modelling and messy activities including chalk rubbing and button stamping. We have also really loved building our own cars and making up our own stories! The children have also really engaged with different sounds and loved playing sound and number bingo!
Next week the letter is M and the number is 11. The colour is brown and the shape is a hexagon. We are really excited about cooking muffins next week! We will also be finger print painting, colour sorting and playing the missing object game! We will be playing long jump in the garden as well as making a runway for our aeroplanes!
