Ladybirds
This week we have had a variety of colour activities including sensory paint ice play, rainbow sticking, free painting using lots of different tools like brushes, stamps and rollers as well as lots of brightly coloured tissue paper play!
Next week we are really looking forward to our “all about our babies” themed week! We will be celebrating the different heritages of our Ladybirds by making flags, finger painting a world map as well as lots of mirror play exploring our own reflections!
Butterflies
We have really enjoyed stencil painting this week as well as engaging in a lot of sensory painting. As usual, the Butterflies have been loving lots of water play – splashing and making lots of puddles! We also had a super time with Jo in our new music and movement class, the children loved it! As well as all our physical and sensory activity, we have really enjoyed lots of story time this week.
We will be exploring farms next week and are looking forward to making a lovely new farm themed display.
Bumblebees
The Bumblebees have relished messy play this week! During our sessions we talked about all the textures and colours we were exploring. We have also been looking at shapes, numbers and pictures in the environment around us.
Next week we will be spending as much time outside as we can and we will be deciding as a room what we would like our new display to be.
Dragonflies
This week in Dragonflies we enjoyed spending much of our time exploring animals and their habitats. We also discussed what they might eat and drink and what they might need to build their homes. We also enjoyed learning our phonic song for “p” although it was a bit of a tricky one!
Next week the letter is Nn, number is 6, shape is pentagon and colour is orange. We will be creating a beautiful display involving lots of arts, crafts and imagination around our current animals, insects and their habitats theme.
Ladybirds
This week in Ladybirds we have had a fun farm themed week with lots of hay and animal play as well as playing with animals in the sand and plenty of animal painting! We have also been out in the garden exploring and enjoying the fresh air.
Next week we will be enjoying a colour theme throughout and are looking forward to colour focussed sensory play, creative activities using lots of different colour tissue paper and many more bright and cheerful colour activities!
Butterflies
We have enjoyed masses of music and dance time this week, Jo’s music time was a particular hit and we look forward to having her in the Butterflies room again! We have also been discovering and using our natural resources for a number of activities including leaf and pinecone painting as well as sensory play.
We will be learning about and exploring our senses next week, our hands and feet to feel, our noses to smell and our mouths to taste. We will also be having fun looking at animals and the noises they make!
Bumblebees
The Bumblebees loved their trip to the fruit and veg shop this week and learning about how we pay for our shopping. We absolutely loved our new Music Mayhem lady, Jo, and had lots of fun music time this week.
Next week we will be painting with different textures and exploring colours as well as spending lots of time outside.
Dragonflies
We loved our visit from Zoolab this week, getting to touch, stroke and hold all the wonderful animals! We also had a super time with Jo from Music Mayhem and the Dragonflies loved their music session – lots of dancing and using musical instruments! We have really enjoyed planting seeds in the garden, watering them and learning about how they will grow.
Next week our letter is Pp, number is 5, colour is blue and shape will be oval. Following on from our Zoolab visit, we will be exploring animals and their different habitats next week as well as lots of time in the garden.
Ladybirds
This week in Ladybirds we have been on a few lovely Spring walks to feed the ducks and to Pets at Home where we got some new fish for our fish tank. We have also spent a lot of time in the garden playing and exploring our outside space. Back inside, we have been enjoying plenty of painting and have put up some lovely new displays.
Next week we are really looking forward to having lots of fun with a farm themed week!
Butterflies
We took our water and sand play outside this week and have enjoyed masses of time in the gorgeous fresh spring air! The Butterflies really enjoyed going on a walk to the park where we found lots of ducks to feed. We have also been getting creative with messy Easter activities and making Easter cards and hats.
Next week we will be spending lots more time outside, as much as we can, as well as plenty of messy play and sensory play too.
Bumblebees
This week in Bumblebees we have has so much fun baking some delicious Easter cakes and making some fantastic Easter hats! With the weather so good we have spent even more time that usual outside enjoying in particular the sand and water play!
Next week we will be spending time exploring different texture and what one we like the most and which we do not!
Dragonflies
We have loved our new role play café this week! The Dragonflies have enjoyed a lot of imaginary play and have drawn their own pictures of what they’d most like to eat. They also made treasure maps using tea bags which was a lot of fun! The Easter bonnet parade was fantastic this week and we all enjoyed the Easter party lunch on Tuesday.
Next week the letter is Ii and the number is 4, the shape is crescent and the colour is pink. We have a big focus on colours planned for next week including science experiments with colour and making a beautiful colour mixing display to explore what happens when we mix colours together!
Ladybirds
This week in Ladybirds we have been outside in the garden and enjoying the lovely weather. The babies have particularly enjoyed water play and sand play. We have had crazy foam and animal messy play too! The Ladybirds have also been getting creative with stamp and pad painting this week.
Next week we will be getting immersed in Easter activities, making cards and yummy nest cakes – delicious! We are also planning on spending as much time as we can in the garden enjoying the warm and sunny weather!
Butterflies
This week in Butterflies we have been taking the inside outside! We had our music time outside as well as role play with babies, a tea party and dressing up! We also got creative and made a start on our Easter activities this week.
We are looking forward to completing our Easter bits next week including making some lovely cards for our mummies and daddies!
Bumblebees
The Bumblebees have really enjoyed getting involved in baking this week and will be getting stuck in again next week! As well as a lot of time having fun outside in the garden, we have also focussed on building and making with our construction toys this week.
Alongside baking some more delicious treats next week, we will also be finishing off our Easter creative bits and making Easter cards for our special people.
Dragonflies
This week we made some yummy cheese straws, the Dragonflies really enjoyed the cooking processes and they tasted delicious as our afternoon snack! We also really enjoyed PE this week as well as making number caterpillars and bubble painting. Making the most of the weather the Dragonflies also loved the picnic snack and tea we had outside. Getting creative, we also made Easter baskets and coloured in some bunny pictures.
Next week the letter is Tt and the number is 3, the colour is yellow and the shape is a hexagon. We will be having an Easter party and bonnet competition as well as an Easter egg hunt!
