We are looking forward to celebrating World Book Day on Thursday! We are inviting all our Thursday little ones to come in dressed up as they wish for a day of fun! We will be dressing up too!

Ladybirds
This week in Ladybirds our theme of the week has been Chinese New Year and we have made some lovely little dragons, had great fun with sensory noodle play. We also got creative and made Chinese lanterns. As always, the Ladybirds have been outside a lot this week in the garden and we’ve all been enjoying some fresh, crisp, wintery air (come on Spring, nearly here!)
Next week in Ladybirds our new theme of the week is World Book Day and we will be dressing up as our favourite nursery rhyme character/ theme. We are looking forward to making Incy Wincy Spider pictures, Twinkle Little Stars and lots more nursery rhyme themed activities. We will also be doing a little something to celebrate St David’s Day.
Butterflies
This week the Butterflies have really enjoyed getting stuck into lots of messy play activities! Additionally, we have really loved dancing to music as well as particularly exploring cars in paints.
Next week we will continue to explore our theme of transport and we will be dressing up for World Book Day! We look forward to seeing all the lovely costumes!
Bumblebees
This week in Bumblebees we have been continuing with our amazing animal theme. The littles ones have been enjoying gluing and sticking animals, sensory sand play with dinosaurs as well as super fun safari role play!
Next week we will be starting our new theme “Spring Into Spring” to welcome the new, hopefully warmer (although not next week for sure!) season!
Dragonflies
The letter of the week was Q and the number 23, the colour was blue and the focus shape was a circle.
This week we have started to learn more about Spring, in particular how the flowers bloom and animals, like chick and lambs, are born. We have also enjoyed a very messy week with loads of different messy play activities every day!
Next week is a big week for Dragonfles…we collect our chick eggs on Tuesday and we are really looking forward to World Book Day on Thursday – don’t forget to try and dress up – we can’t wait to see all the super costumes!
Ladybirds
Love is in the air! This week we have really enjoyed our LOVE theme and have relished lots of related Valentine’s activities. We have particularly liked making lovely Valentines handprints as well as pretty love hearts.
Next week our theme is going to be Chinese New Year and we are looking forward to getting creative making Chinese lanterns and some fantastic Chinese dragon pictures.
Butterflies
This week we have been finishing our lovely Valentines cards and started exploring activities surrounding Chinese New Year. We made pretty cherry blossoms to put on our new display board and some great Chinese Lanterns to hang from the ceiling.
Next week we are really looking forward to focussing on our new theme – transport! We know our lovely Butterflies are going to get fully stuck in to this one! Brrrrrm!
Bumblebees
This week the brilliant Bumblebees have been finishing Valentines week by completing our beautiful cards and making a gorgeous “love” display. We have also begun Chinese New Year activities and the children have enjoyed decorating related pictures.
Next week we will continue with our Chinese New Year theme by making some super lanterns. We are also going to begin a brand new theme based on the children’s interests – we’re looking forward to finding this out!
Dragonflies
The letter was V, number 22, colour pink and shape was a pentagon this week!
The Dragonflies have been really enjoying our Chinese role play area this week – so much fun. We have also had a great time dancing around, making lovely Valentine ’s Day gifts and of course eating some delicious pancakes on Pancake Day!
Next week we will be looking forward to our music session with Jo and also our French session, oui! We will also get stuck into making some fantastic gooey slime!
Ladybirds
This week in Ladybirds our theme of the week has been nature! We have enjoyed getting stuck into nature sensory trays, getting creative with snowdrop painting and leaf painting as well as having huge sensory fun with bubble wrap wonder (and plenty more fun activities.)
Next week our theme of the week is love! We are looking forward to making Valentines cards as well as enjoying some red themed sensory heart play and many more exciting and lovely activities and experiences.
Butterflies
This week we have been enjoying making a start on our Valentines cards and lovely presents for our mummies and daddies. The Butterflies have also been having a great time cooking and decorating some yummy heart biscuits.
Next week we will be getting creative and stuck into lots of art and crafts for Chinese New Year!
Bumblebees
This week in Bumblebees we have been doing lots of sporting activities in the garden! Our highlight being the bike races. We have also been working on our pet board and have been really enjoying drawing pictures of our families.
Next week some of the highlights will be playing with and exploring sensory cling film with various activities and we are also really looking forward to having an obstacle course in the garden.
Dragonflies
The letter of the week was Xx, number was 21, colour yellow and shape oval.
This week we have been turning our role play into a Chinese restaurant to celebrate Chinese New Year! We have also chosen a book of the month “Harry and his bucket full of dinosaurs” and have been enjoying activities around its themes.
Next week we are going to spend plenty of time role playing in our role play area as well as finishing off our Valentines cards, having pancakes on Tuesday and lots more fun!
