Ladybirds
This week in ladybirds we have been focused on Halloween. We’ve got really stuck in and enjoy making paper Mache Pumpkins, exploring the textures! We’ve continued to explore textures as colours as we make a collage witches cauldrons. We’ve made the most of the weather and used the opportunity to explore the beautiful autumn leaves and vegetables in our play!
Next week we will continue with the Halloween theme, getting ready for our fun filled Halloween party where we will be dressed up as pumpkins and enjoying some party games followed by a party tea! We will be focusing on pumpkins, looking at a variety of different types and shapes of pumpkins and painting real pumpkins!
Butterflies
This week our 1 year olds have been exploring a variety of differently textures, encouraging them to engage in new experiences and explore new languages such as ‘soft’ ‘sticky’ ‘wet’ ‘dry’ ect, they’ve had a fantastic time getting stuck in and messy. They’ve explored Halloween themed Jelly play, an animal in ice tray and a textures playdough play with pasta! They’ve been building there fine and gross motor skills through pouring water into different sized containers throughout water play. Fine motor skills have been practiced whilst threading.
Our 2 years old’s have been looking as categorizing, using colour bowls to sort coloured pom poms, looking at different heights and identifying different sizes ‘big’ ‘small’ With our two year old’s we’ve also been exploring the textures alongside the little ones but in more depth and using more vocabulary, as well as this we have also been learning about turn taking within the activities and being able to play alongside our friends.
Next week are going full force with our Halloween week, on Wednesday we will be dressing up as characters from Charlie and the chocolate factory ready for a fun filled day of arts and crafts and party games! We will also be having a spooky Halloween tea party!

This week in bumblebees we have been getting our hands dirty and getting as messy as possible, exploring different textures as well as introducing a storyline to the small world messy play, we had a room on the broom tuff tray! We’ve been making lots of Halloween decorations to make our room as spooky as possible, practicing using our scissors to cut our our work as well as mixing colours to explore what happens.
Next week we will be getting our Halloween groove on.. ready to dress as the Adams family and go full force into our Halloween party mode! We have lots of Halloween arts and crafts, and a yummy spooky tea party! We will be putting our chefs hat on and ready to bake some Halloween treats!

This week in dragonflies we’ve had lots of fun getting messy with Halloween arts and crafts making spooky but wonderful decorations for the room!
We’ve been practice our motor skills of cutting out shapes such as pumpkins and looking at similar shapes within the environment. We’ve also used out smartboard to learn how pumpkins are grown! We’ve made spooky Halloween gloop, playing with friends and talking about what we feel and the spooky colours we could see changing as they mixed the cornflour together. We made some delicious Halloween shaped biscuits that we took home and enjoyed showing our Mummy and daddy!
Next week we will continue with the Halloween fun, dressing up and getting ready to party! We also have an amazing surprise of a fun filled hour session on a season Halloween special from zoo lab, looking at all the different creatures and listening to the zoo lab witch tell us a spooky story!

This week we have been looking at people who help us, we have spent a lot of time looking at transport and encouraging the babies to use their gross and fine motor skills in doing so. We have encouraged them to make the different sounds and noises of the transport. Next week we are going to be doing lots of arts and crafts based on a Halloween theme.
Butterflies
This week we have been exploring music, making our own musical instruments and seeing what sounds we can make from them. With our 2 year old’s we have incorporated these instruments and their sounds in our circle time, using our instruments we have looked and the different concepts of quiet and loud. Next week is the beginning of our Halloween themes where we will be making a new display and the children will be getting creative in there messy play.

This week we have spent a lot of time within the role play, we have enjoyed being doctors, builders, pilots, police and many more, this has helped us to talk about different occupations using our imagination and with the older children talking about what we want to be when we grow up. Next week we are looking at Halloween and have lots of exciting activities and arts and crafts planned.

This week in dragonflies we have been baking biscuits ready for Halloween using our creativity to designs different patterns. In PE we have been exploring the different ways of movement using an obstacle course and working together to complete different physical activities. Within science this week we had a lot of fun creating ‘fuzzy foam’ looking at chemical reactions of lemon juice and bi-carbonate of soda, we also added new colours each time!
Next week we will continue with Halloween arts and crafts, getting ready for our Halloween party. We will also be looking at lots of group games, learning to work together in pairs and encouraging one another, for example next week we are having a three legged race!

This week has been our ‘All around the World’ theme. We have made colourful flags, colourful sensory trays, personal passports and noodle play all the way through the week. Next week is about the ‘ People that help us’. Firemen, policeman, nurses, doctors, ambulance crew are just some of the people that w are going to be looking at.

This week our 1 year old Butterflies have been focussing on preparing our room for our Halloween celebrations. We have made spiders, ghosts, and a big pumpkin! Next week we will be continuing to make our Halloween decorations and will make some Halloween biscuits. This week the 2 year old Butterflies have been looking at different animals. We did a sea life tuff tray and identified the animals and spoke about where we live and what our houses look like. We all live in very different houses! As well as this we have started to look at baby animals and what they are called.

This week we have started our Halloween displays and decorations. We have made bats, ghosts, pumpkins and all things spooky. Next week we will be making a ig pumpkin with all of our little hand prints and maybe some spooky treat ideas for our Halloween party. We have got lots of Halloween ideas for the Halloween party, along with a spooky song that helps us practice our sounds.

This week we have been preparing for Halloween. We have done fruit stamping to make a ghoulish background for our display. Using these stamps we have made pumpkins, witches hats and also glitter pumpkins. We made jam tarts and enjoyed our French lesson with Nadine.
Next week we will be baking spooky Halloween biscuits and fizzing foam in our Science experiment.

This week has been our seasons of the year week, with lots of sensory play to represent Autumn, Winter, Spring and Summer. Collages meant that we were got very messy and we also went out to get some Autumnal fresh air. Next week is our ‘Around the World’ week and we will be making flags of the different countries, suitcase collages, making our own passports ,but most of all having lots of fun!
Butterflies
This week with our 1 year old Butterflies we have been focussing on our nature theme by looking through animal books and talking about where the different animals live. We have also made different animal pictures about hedgehogs and foxes for our display board. Our 2 year old Butterflies have been looking at volcanoes and we made a volcano tuff tray which we all played with and we even watched it explode! We talked about volcanoes and the sounds that they make too.
We enjoyed it so much that we have decided to do it for another week!

This week we have been doing lots of Autumn activities, using sticks, leaves and branches that we have collected. We also made windmills to show us how they work and talked about the way they move, how they work and the sounds they might make.
Although it’s a little bit early we have started to prepare ourselves for the Halloween, making lots of pumpkin paintings and colouring in bats.
Dragonflies
This week we carried out a fun experiment by looking at paper cups, string and wet paper towels. The children were fascinated and amused by the quacking noise that it made as they ran the paper up and down the string.
We have also started to make some Halloweeny pictures and objects to decorate our room for our Halloween party.
