Ladybirds
This week we have been looking at transport with lots of vehicle play, creating collages and digging in the dry and wet sand. The babies created lots of different tracks in the sand and paint using all the different toys that they have to play with. It was lots of fun and we got very messy! Next week we will be celebrating Shrove Tuesday and making our own collage pancakes, lots of role play with mixing and patting and eating pour own pancakes too.
Butterflies
This week we have been exploring different textures such as jelly, gloop (corn flour mixed with water), oats, lentils and damp sand. We talked about how the different textures felt and used words like “bumpy” and “scratchy” to describe them. We explored using words like “rough” and “smooth” and “wet” and “dry”. Our 2 year old’s have been mark making using different objects and we spoke about what shapes and patterns they made. Next week we will be dressing up as our favourite character from our favourite stories for World Book Day.
Bumblebees
This week the Bumblebees have been doing lots of activities based on our theme, which was DIY! We have made playdough houses, played with the doll house and pretended to be builders that could fix the houses. We were very good at using a hammer and managed to hammer all the bits of our house together. We talked about how we could build a house and what our houses look like at home. Next week we will be starting to Spring into life with some Spring activities and celebrate World Book Day.

This week we have been very busy doing various activities. Spring is almost here and we have started looking at growth and what plants and flowers need to grow. We have been planting and experimenting with lettuce to see how we can change its colour. We have been cooking again and using our fine motor skills to knead and mould the dough. Next week we will be having a flipping good time and having a pancake race for Shrove Tuesday and seeing who wins the race. We will also be dressing up for World Book Day. Don’t forget to bring your favourite soft toy and story to read!
