We feel it’s important for our parents to be able to see ‘what’ as well as ‘why’ we plan the activities we do for the children. Physical Development (PD) Using their fine motor skills to feel and squeeze and enjoy the feeling of the jelly in their hands
Communication and Language (CL) Has a strong exploratory impulse. Fleeting attention-new stimuli taking their whole attention.
Personal, Social and Emotional Development (PSED) Using their voice, gesture, eye contact and facial expression to make contact with people and uses pointing with eye gaze to make requests.

Understanding the World (UTW) Talking about habitats and where each animal lives
Physical Development (PD) Using their fine motor skills to scoop, pour and pinch.
Communication and Language (CL) Naming animals and using describing words.
Use ice cubes and pour over them to look like a cold habitat. You could also add in lentils, pasta and lentils.

Talk to your child about what came first. The chicken or the egg?! Discuss new born animals and what they are called and perhaps the lifecycle of some of the animals your child is interested in.

Easter coloured play dough. One handed tools and pompoms and feathers to decorate!
Physical development – encouraging fine motor skills. Prodding, pinching, grabbing and squishing
Expressive Arts and Design- Exploring different media
Playdough is lots of fun as it helps your little one strengthens their fine motor skills as they play with it. 2 cups of flour, 1 cup of salt, 1 sachet of cream of tartar, a splash of sunflower oil and water to make it to the consistency you want. Add food colouring to brighten it up and keep it in the fridge to re-use for a couple of days

NEXT THURSDAY 18TH IS EASTER BONNET COMPETITION FOR ALL ROOMS!!
Please bring in your child Easter bonnet in order to win a prize – if your child doesn’t attend Thursdays you are still more than welcome to bring in their bonnet before Thursday in order to be in the competition!

Looking at different animals as part of our pet week. We used sticking, painting and colouring to create fish bowls for pet week. As well as talking about our own pets or what pets we would like.
