Ladybirds

This month we have really enjoyed focussing on our new idea of themed weeks. We’ve been having lots of fun painting with animals, celebrating Chinese New Year and messy play for food week!

Our focus next week is the weather and we’re excited about making sunshines, raindrops and playing with cotton wool “snow” in sensory play!

Butterflies

This week in Butterflies we have made our Humpty Dumpty display – the children loved it! We have also been making lots of sand castles and doing plenty of digging! The Butterflies have really enjoyed the filling and pouring activities this week, we used pasta, sand and of course water.

Next week we will begin our Valentine’s cards and are looking forward to making some delicious Valentine’s biscuits! We will also be creating an obstacle course for the children and getting them fully engaged in physical activity!

Bumblebees

We have been feeling the love and getting creative this week making a brand new Valentine’s display! The Bumblebees have also enjoyed exploring dinosaurs this week, making a world for them with lots of different materials.

We are looking forward to next week and getting even more creative for Valentine’s and our dino world! Our favourite book at the moment is Three Little Pigs and we are looking forward to making a wonderful display to celebrate our most loved story!

Dragonflies

We have been looking at space this week in Dragonflies, talking about the different planets, looking at our solar system model and making paper mache balloons to create our own planets. We have also loved fruit painting with avocados, mangos and passion fruits at the same time as talking about healthy eating. Our role play area has changed into a police station with real police hats and jackets!

Our letter next week is Bb and the number is 18, the colour is bronze and the shape is a triangle. We will be continuing our space display and starting to look at volcanoes next week too! We will be trying to get outside as much as possible next week despite the rain and will be aiming to have running races and lots of fun games!
