Although Halloween has now been and gone (just!) we still love this idea for helping develop fine motor skills and strengthen little fingers and coordination. Seasonal festive fun with no preparation needed can be found at the imagination tree!
You will have heard us talking about how the children love the sensory explosion that is bubble wrap painting! The texture of the bubble wrap, the effect it creates and of course the wonderful sound! Working individually on your own masterpiece or together to make a monster creation, bubble wrap roller painting is always a winner!
Here is a video from artbarblog to give you an idea of what it’s all about! Enjoy and feel free to get stuck in at home if you fancy!

We often talk about the fun we have had at nursery with cloud dough – it is a wonderful sensory experience for little ones and you can get really creative with colous which makes it all the more engaging! In Bumblebees last week we conducted a fun and very simple experiment with the children to engage them in both science but also learning about colour. All you need is a plate, a packet of skittles and a small jug of warm water…
Simply get the children to neatly line the plate with the different coloured skittles. Once the circle is complete, pour over some warm water and watch the mezmerising results! So very simple but fascinating and perfect to try at home…

As the weather has been somewhat “changeable” the past few days we thought this was a great idea. Brilliant in it’s simplicity, it is super easy to make and will engage children in learning about recycling, measuring, the weather, capacity, volume and numbers too! Perfect for a rainy day.
