On 5th October an Ofsted inspector spent the entire day with us here at the nursery. Observing our daily activities, routines and interaction with our children as well as talking with staff, children and parents and inspecting all we have to offer as an early years setting. We are delighted to announce we have been awarded outstanding in all areas. You can read the full report here.
We love what we do here at Bell House and want to take the opportunity once again to thank all our amazing staff and fantastic families for their tremendous partnership and support.

BUTTERFLIES!!!! Well done for the truly super effort from the Butterflies room for their depiction of Clare, Tracy and Andy at the front desk – the attention to detail is incredible and it put a huge smile on all our faces – great job!
We also had a glorious birthday party this afternoon with lots of wonderful dressing up, singing, dancing, party games, a puppet show from Katie Sparkles and a tea party in the sunshine!
There were lots of happy but exhausted little (and not so little!) people going home after such a fun day today!
We would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to the amazing team here at Bell House for all their hard work, commitment and the genuine care and love they show the children. The past 4 years have been wonderful and so much of that is due to the team we are lucky to work with here.
We would also like to say a huge and heartfelt thank you to all our lovely parents and carers for entrusting us with your little ones and allowing us to be part of their lives at such an important time. We adore getting to know them as they grow and develop and feel truly honoured to be a part of their young lives. It has been a fabulous four years and our familes have played such a vital role in making it as sucessful, worthwhile and fun(!) as it has been. We look forward to the next four…
With the blossoming trees, the blooming flowers, the chirping birds and the sunnier skies… Spring is most definitely (and finally) here! And with that, we have changed our menus for the Spring/ Summer terms to offer a nutritiously balanced, appealing selection of diverse dishes for our discerning little patrons! We will continue to post the weekly menu on the notice board in reception but also here on the blog at the beginning of each week, so keep your eyes peeled for our fresh selection of firm favourites and new culinary picks!
World Book Day (WBD) was a wonderful success today with the children bringing in their favourite books to be read by our 3 special guests! Tracy was magnificent as the Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly, Jo was a fantastic Alien who Loves Underpants and Annie was a tremendous Jungle Animal who met The Selfish Crocodile! The children were enraptured and listened intently to the stories! As part of WBD each child was given a £1 book token and there remains a book token basket on the reception desk for those who were not in today to celebrate (on a first come, first served basis) These book tokens can be used against the purchase of a book worth more than £2.99 in participating book shops or they can be used to redeem entirely one of the 10 exclusive WBD books (suitable for 3-5yr olds are Kipper’s Visitor by Mick Inkpen or Supertato: Ha-pea Ever After by Sue Hendra and Paul Linnet) A full list and more details can be found at www.worldbookday.com What’s more, on the back of each token is a lucky number which you can input into the prize draw on the website for your chance to win some incredible prizes!
Bell House Book Swap
Reading is such an important part of early childhood and studies have found that children who enjoy reading often do well at school in all subjects. As well as increasing literacy, reading together also helps to build a strong and loving relationship between parent/ carer and child. It is never too early to start reading with your child! In celebration of WBD we have launched our Book Swap which can be found in reception area. So how does it work?
We recently sent out our latest Spring 2016 Newsletter, to view a copy online visit the Useful Info page on the website.
We have been spending some time redeveloping our website to better communicate what Bell House nursery has to offer but to also open up communication channels with our parents. Please take a good look around the site which is now updated with fresh, up to date content, pictures, videos and resources. We endeavour to keep the website completely up to date so you can use it as a valuable resource when looking for information regarding the nursery. We are also re-starting our blog which will be updated throughout each week with news, updates, insight and relevant information (and hopefully a bit of fun too!) to keep you all updated and to hopefully start some dialogue between our Bell House community. On that note, we are also creating a brand new shiny Facebook page, coming in January 2016! Our hope is that this too will become a resource and source of communication for the nursery and all our wonderful parents. Keep an eye on the page as we will be updating it each week with updates, snippets of news, pictures and more.
