Our dedicated chef prepares tasty, nutritious meals and snacks for the children on a daily basis. All meals are lovingly home cooked, nutritiously balanced and children are encouraged to sample a wide range of dishes through our seasonal and regularly updated menus. We publish the menu for the week on our notice board but also on our blog at the beginning of each week. Where appropriate, children are encouraged to feed themselves and to eat together promoting independence and a social association with mealtimes.
Please feel free to download an example menu. We also have a weaning menu for babies should this be required.
We also frequently involve the children in cooking activities where, under gentle adult supervision, they enjoy making, baking and decorating the fruits of their labour. As well as promoting a healthy relationship with food, cooking is excellent for sparking the children’s creativity and sensory experience as well as science interest, developing maths and fine motor skills and building confidence.
