Secure outside play area and garden

A breath of fresh air…

Our secure outside play area and garden features in the children’s daily activity, come rain or shine. Our excited little ones love to charge about on bikes and trikes, crawl through tunnels, climb the rope wall, whizz down the slide and bounce on space hoppers.

We have specific areas where children can learn about nature and tend to the plants in the raised flower beds as well as getting stuck in making mud pies!

Our outside area also facilitates lettering and numeracy development with the brightly painted alphabet and numbers over the ‘wet pour’ safe ground. Non-walkers also love to enjoy the outside space with artificial grass for their comfort and safety. The sandpit and water area also make for fun playtime and we also have fun making dens and camps with tents and sheets in dry weather.

As well as our dedicated outdoor space we also take the children on regular trips to the nearby park and playground. Here children love to visit the church or the bandstand, interact with nature, find bugs in the hedgerows, burn off energy on the grass and play on the well-equipped playground featuring swings, roundabouts and other apparatus to aid physical development. Of course, safety is paramount and the staff and children head off wearing high-visibility vests exercising and demonstrating vital standards of road, playground and open space safety.

A breath of fresh air…

We are very lucky to have an allotment area where the children can play and explore daily. Our ethos at little explores is to create a calm and nurturing natural learning environment for the children where they can safely take minimal risks, explore, and learn to respect our natural environment, use a range of tools safety and learn to care for the animals, minibeast, insects, trees and one and other.
