Ladybirds
This week our Ladybirds have enjoyed a ‘beach time’ week, making sandcastle pictures, hand print fish and dabber painted crabs.
All this hard work has meant that the children’s art work has helped us create a brand new room display. Please do come and have a look at it!
Next week will be a colourful week with our babies getting messy and exploring a primary colour tuff tray and making a rainbow display.
Butterflies
This week in Butterflies we have been looking at the children’s holiday pictures they have sent into us and talking about their time away with their families.
We also have had a variety of activities focussing on ‘the beach’, ranging from a beach tuff tray and some lovely beach pictures. Cooking was also fun and our Butterflies have created some culinary delights to produce 5 star rated jam tarts and cheese scones.
Next week we will be looking at shapes , using puzzles, books and shape stencils to show and use with our little ones.
Bumblebees
This week has all been about texture. Our Bumblebees explored dried pasta, lentils, spaghetti, glitter, powder paints and oil. Then we cooked the pasta and talked about how the pasta had changed when we touched it. We also added all these things to water and talked about how they felt. “slippy”, “sloppy” “mushy” and “wet” were all lovely words that the our Bumblebees said. We even had time to make unseasonable mince pies that went down a treat.
Next week we will be exploring ‘emotions’ and how they make us feel inside. We will carry on looking at our Golden Rules and talking about how we use them.
We will also be exploring all the colours of the rainbow and mixing colours together to see what new colours they make.
Dragonflies
Our Dragonflies have been looking at number problems and asking our children to tell us one more and one less than a given number. We have also been looking at three letter words and practise blending the sounds together, to make words. Our Dragonflies love literacy and mathematical activities and their number and letter recognition is a much looked forward to time of the day.
Next week we will be looking at all the exotic places that our globe trotters have been to and talk about their holidays. Do feel free to bring any holiday pictures and souvenirs’ for us to discuss in our ‘show and tell’ times.
