Ladybirds
This week we’ve been looking at natural materials. We’ve had so much fun exploring the world around us and using all our senses, listening to nature’s noises, rubbing with leaves to create a pattern and feeling the texture of twigs. We’ve been leaf painting, looking at the colours we may use for leaves. On Friday we also made biscuits for Burns Night and the staff read us a poem. Next week: our theme is Mark Making, this gives us lots of opportunities to get busy and messy, participating in large scale mark making using our whole bodies, as well as making marks to music and chalking on the ground outside.
Butterflies
This week in Butterflies we’ve got messy with lots of sensory play, making and exploring playdough as well as feeling the individual ingredient within the play dough. Dry pasta play and listening to the noise it makes when you pour it and creating marks within slimy cornflour! Our two-year olds have been very focus on self-care, exploring this using our role play, dressing and undressing babies as well as bathing and feeding them. We’ve got into character a few times and even pretended to be ‘Mummies’ On Friday we made Scottish flags to celebrate Burn’s night! Next week: Next week we are looking at the different weather, using the outside area to play some fun winter games to keep us warm, as well as exploring the leaves and going for a bug hunt! We’re also starting to look at Chinese New Year which is fast approaching and will make lots of art work for.
