NEXT THURSDAY 18TH IS EASTER BONNET COMPETITION FOR ALL ROOMS!!
Please bring in your child Easter bonnet in order to win a prize – if your child doesn’t attend Thursdays you are still more than welcome to bring in their bonnet before Thursday in order to be in the competition!
Animal farm tuff tray using hay, leafy carrots, lentils, sand and toy animals. Exploring textures and animal noises.
Physical development – encouraging sensory exploration and fine motor skills.
Communication and language – learning new noises and words.
Personal, social and emotional development – Making relationships with adults and peers through play.
Going to pet shops to see animals and looking at local surroundings where animals may live.
Preparing for Easter, making handprint chicks, easter eggs and chocolate playdough.
Talking with children about easter, noises chicks make, looking at colours to decorate our eggs and using sensory and fine motor skills to explore the playdough.
Physical development – using fine motor skills.
Understanding the world – looking at habbates for chicks and talking about Easter traditions.
Communication and Language – Learning new words and encouraging language
Personal social and emotional Development – Playing along side peers, turn taking and communicating with one another.
Chocolate nest making, to encourage children to use all their senses and talk about the easter period. Getting them involved in mixing, scooping and tasting!
Looking at different animals as part of our pet week. We used sticking, painting and colouring to create fish bowls for pet week. As well as talking about our own pets or what pets we would like.
Understanding the world – talking about how different animals live and how we take care of them
Communication and language – maintaining focus on activities and learning new language through group chats.
Personal social and emotional development – talking with friends, sharing resources and learning about care for animals.
Physical development – Using different fine motor skills to create pictures.
Going to the pet shops and exploring different animals and learning about different habitats.
Pre-school Bee’s also got involved with the animal theme activities as well as having ‘pet show and tell’ where they brought pictures of their pets and told their friends all about them.
