Ladybirds
This week Ladybirds have been playing with lots of things that travel. Cars, Vans, Lorries, hot air balloons, trains, buses….all to do with transport. We have had fun exploring a travel tuff tray, decorating paper planes and we also loved getting messy with a traffic light jumbo pasta painting!
Next week we will be talking and reading about our family pets. Pet themed books will be used and we will be making lots of animal noises along with making our very own pets.
Butterflies
This week our little Butterflies have been getting messy with lots of different types of painting and exploring all the different colours. With our bigger Butterflies we have been focussing on colour and size categorising, using different sized objects around the room.
Next week we will start introducing Autumn and talking about the early signs of Autumn, around us. We will also start talking about and looking at pictures of our up and coming Harvest festival.
Bumblebees
Pre-school Bumblebees
Letter/number of the week is T and 3
Colour/shape of the week is Yellow and Hexagon
This week in Bumblebees we have welcomed our new teachers to the room and we are getting to know each other. We have continued with the Science experiments and made slime too. We had a great time making some treasure maps and finding the treasure where X marked the spot. The treasure was whatever we wanted it to be and some of us had gold coins and some of us decided that we wanted chocolate buttons.
Next week is the up and coming season of Autumn and the early signs to look out for. Our older pre-school Bumblebees will be practising our Harvest festival songs for our up and coming Harvest festival that we are holding at the church.
Dragonflies
Letter/number of the week is Y and 24
Colour/shape of the week is Orange and Star
Our Science experiment this week was looking at how our heart works and how exercise effects it. We looked at the importance of exercise and a good diet to help keep our heart and our bodies healthy. Transition is our current topic and we have sadly been saying goodbye to our school leavers as well and wishing them all the very best of luck for the future. Next week Vicky is back and I know she will get lots of welcome hugs from all the children. As well as this we will be beginning to settle our new Dragonflies into the room ad practising our Harvest Festival songs for our church service in September.
