Ladybirds
This week we have had lots of fun during our Harvest Festival week. The children have been painting with various root vegetables and we had a lovely early Autumn walk to our local fruit and veg shop where we brought lots of food for the Harvest Festival Celebration. We also brought some bright Sunflowers to make the Harvest Festival display look cheerful.
Next week is bug week and we will be looking at mini beasts in and around the garden. We will be making bug jelly and lots of beastie activities!
Butterflies
This week we have been focussing on getting really messy making Autumn collages, pine cone painting, decorating our own leaves and being generally Autumny. We have also been getting stuck into lots of messy sensory play such as jelly, angel delight, and rainbow cornflour play. Next week we will be exploring more Autumn colours and wrapping up in the colder weather!

This week we have been looking at Autumn and especially our Harvest Festival Ceremony at our local church. Our older Bumblebee pre-schoolers performed their songs to the Parents and families and did so well using their big voices in the church. Our little Bumblebees made a Harvest tree using their hands and fingers to make the different coloured leaves. Science experiments will include measuring sound and floating flowers!
Next week we will continue the theme and work on our Autumn display, using our imagination and different objects to make marks. Oh and we will also be making cheese straws!
