Ladybirds
This week in Ladybirds our theme of the week has been shapes. We have had masses of fun making shapes in cornflour play as well as jumbo shape mark making and lots more shape related fun activities. As always, we have had plenty of time outside exploring the garden and able to enjoy lovely sunshine this week! We have had water and ice play to keep nice and cool!
We are looking forward to our theme next week In & Out, Up & Over where we will be getting stuck into tents, tunnels and parachute fun!
Butterflies
This week in Butterflies we have been having different themed tuff trays everyday including beach theme, sea life, farms as well as a muddy digger tray! We have been focussing many of our activities driven by the children’s personal interests.
Next week we are looking forward to giving some time to exploring opposites like warm/ cold, soft/ hard and big/ small.
Bumblebees
This week in Bumblebees we have been exploring the story of the 3 Little Pigs and focussing our activities around this including re-enacting the story, gluing and sticking wolves and pigs as well as lots of messy play!
We will be discovering the story of The Bad Tempered Ladybird next week and using this to learn about our emotions and different behaviours.
Dragonflies
The letter of the week was O, number 14, colour dark blue and shape a pentagon.
This week in Dragonflies we have been looking at summertime and have really enjoyed making various creatures using paper plates and materials. The Dragonflies have also been getting messy and creative using different mark making materials like chalk and paints.
Next week we are looking at going on holiday, we have recently changed our role play area into a fabulous hotel!
