Ladybirds
This week in the Ladybirds room we’ve spent lots of time in the garden as the weather has been lovely for the most part. We’ve had pasta play and really enjoyed exploring the textures and noises it makes. We have done some stacking painting and again enjoyed exploring the textures with hands and mouths. We have also spent some quality time encouraging the babies with their walking – they are coming along really well!
Next week we will be doing lots of bubbly water both inside and outside. We will also be having some really good fun with some sensory ball painting for sensory experience.
Butterflies
This week in Butterflies we have had masses of fun using straws to paint in neon colours! We have also been potato printing using different shapes and colours to stamp and make amazing pictures! We have begun our Healthy Eating board with lots of yummy fruit and vegetables including our favourite… bananas! We have also loved playing in the sunshine and trying on all sorts of different hats and have really enjoyed bubble play this week especially!
We are looking forward to a week full of outside activities, messy play and continuing with our Healthy Eating focus next week!
Bumblebees
We have had lots of fun enjoying different messy play activities outside especially those with quick sand, cloudough and scented cornflour – a sensory sensation! We have also been spending some time decorating our underwater creatures for our new display!
Next week we are really looking forward to spending lots of time outside in the garden getting creative with paint and having lots of water play and fun games…
Dragonflies
This week in Dragonflies we have had so much fun exploring our outside environment and drawing pictures for our new bug house! We have also been looking at shapes around the room and in the garden. Writing our names, conducting science experiments, enjoying messy play and also taking part in maths games have also been highlights this week.
Next week the letter is P and the number is 5. The colour will be blue and the shape is oval. We will have a big focus on sensory play next week describing textures and making sensory bags and bottles. We are also excited about looking into what bugs and flowers we might see this summer and also exploring what patterns can be made from different objects using chalk rubbings.
