Ladybirds
This week we have been doing lots of Chinese New Year activities including money pockets, rooster feet, lanterns and practicing our Chinese style writing!
Continuing with our themed weeks, next week will be animal week and we have lots of animal related activities planned! We will also be enjoying lots of sensory play and spending time outside.
Butterflies
This week we have been getting very creative! We have done animal painting, stacking cup painting and ball rolling painting! We have also really been enjoying our new cosy corner and snuggling up listening to lots of stories. We have also enjoyed role playing putting our babies to bed and having more tea parties this week!
Next week we will be preparing to celebrate the Chinese New Year of the rooster with lots of creative activities. We will also be spending as much time in the fresh air as possible, engaging in more messy play and snuggling up with more stories.
Bumblebees
We have been busy creating lots of new artwork for Chinese New Year in Bumblebees this week including Chinese dragons and lanterns. We also really enjoyed car painting this week – the children roll cars with paint across the paper – great fun with some great results!
We will be continuing to get creative next week, getting ready for Valentine’s Day! We will also continue with key person focussed time.
Dragonflies
This week we have been exploring Chinese New Year and have made lanterns, Chinese masks and reading books! The Dragonflies have loved getting really creative making people out of spaghetti and other materials as well as printing animal tracks. We also had lots of fun with shaving foam and water play!
Next week the letter is Bb and the number is 18. The shape is a triangle and the colour is bronze. We will be changing our role play area next week into a police station which should make for lots of fun role play! The Dragonflies will also be exploring the topic of space and we’ll make our own planets out of paper mache and looking at the solar system.
