Ladybirds
This week in Ladybirds has been a weather themed week and we have been getting very creative! We have made sunshines with paper plates, clouds with lots of soft fluffy cotton wool and main rain with dabbers and blue paint! We have also really enjoyed a good explore of the garden as well as plenty of sensory play with sand and rice.
Next week we will have even more sensory play as well as some time in the garden – as much as we can get!
Butterflies
We have been preparing for Valentines this week and making some lovely cards. The Butterflies have also enjoyed using their gross motor movements by walking along our balance beams, climbing on the slide and jumping on the trampette.
The focus for next week will be on sensory experiences and exploring textures and we plan to do this through lots of messy play – yay!
Bumblebees
Our favourite story of the moment is The 3 Little Pigs and so we have been celebrating the book by creating a wonderful display! We have also been busy finishing off our Valentines cards and presents as well as getting thoroughly engaged in lots of sensory play and painting!
Next week we will be making a Paw Patrol display and talking about our favourite characters and why we all love it so much! We will also be exploring animal habitats and making our own homes for animals, discovering what they need and why.
Dragonflies
We have made a lot of lovely Valentine’s cards this week as well as finishing off our planets and hanging them from the ceiling in a great space display! We have enjoyed watching videos of volcanoes exploding and then doing our own volcano experiment. The Dragonflies also loved having a visit from a policeman this week and had so much fun sitting in the police car, hearing the siren and seeing the blue flashing light!
Next week the letter is Ww and the number is 20. The colour is green and the shape is a crescent. We will be getting creative again next week with lots of Valentine’s related activities including drawing pictures of our ideas of a lovely Valentine’s Day.
