Ladybirds
This week in Ladybirds we have enjoyed a summer themed week! We have created a summer holiday display, made foot prints in the sand, got creative making an ice-cream collage, engaged our senses with ice play and have also been outside in the garden exploring and getting plenty of fresh air. Aside from our summer theme, the Ladybirds have also enjoyed rice and lentil messy play.
Next week our theme for the week will be space! We are looking forward to making rockets and a display of 5 little men in a flying saucer and a mobile solar system as well as finishing off our Father’s Day cards.
Butterflies
This week we have got involved with lots of creative activities including ball painting, body painting and we have also begun making Father’s Day cards. We particularly enjoyed baking some yummy biscuits which we then decorated on Wear it Red day!
Next week we are really looking forward to incorporating a natural theme in our activities including pine cone and leaf painting and using our senses to explore different natural resources.
Bumblebees
We have been on an outing this week to get some shrimps for our fish tank and the children seemed to absolutely love seeing all the animals at the pet shop. We also really enjoyed creating our new holiday display and explored the different aspects of going on holiday.
We are once again hoping to spend as much time outside as possible and we are also planning on taking the busy Bumblebees on another outing.
Dragonflies
We have been looking at the life cycle of caterpillars this week, it has been fascinating to watch our class caterpillars turn into butterflies! The Dragonflies have also made some lovely drawings of them! The children have also particularly enjoyed playing in the newly transformed role play area which now resembles a builder’s construction site.
Next week the letter is Dd , the number 12, the shape a crescent and the colour is light blue. We are really hoping to be able to release our beautiful Butterflies as well as looking forward to a whole day of mega den building next week!
