Ladybirds
This week we’ve had so much fun exploring colours! The Ladybirds got stuck into messy coloured couscous play, super fun splatter painting as well as vibrant and expressive table top painting.
Next week is our “All about memories” week and we are excited! Our Ladybirds will be decorating a lovely memory box filled with lots of memories from nursery s well as keep sakes to take home.
Butterflies
We have enjoyed lots of messy play this week. In particular the Butterflies enjoyed mucky mud play, messy hand painting as well as flour play. We also had such a great time and thoroughly loved our mini beast day on Friday!
Next week we are really looking forward to getting stuck into some serious den building! As well as this, we will also be focussing on getting expressive with singing songs and dancing to music.
Bumblebees
This week we have really enjoyed finishing off our out-of-this-world space display! The Bumblebees have also been getting creative and making various wonderful pieces of a new board which we are calling “A Bugs Life”. Watch this space over the next week…
As well as the usual developmental play, we will be having a storing focus on mark making next week and will be using a variety of tools and materials to engage the children as much as possible and explore the different result we get from using these.
Dragonflies
This week we have really loved learning about the planets in our solar system. We have been making planets developing our fine motor skills – drawing round a plate as well as using scissors to cut around our planet shape. We have also been exploring different roles and occupations and in particular this week, that of the Post Office. We had a fabulous day on Friday dressing up for Mini-Beast Day and going on a brilliant bug hunt!
Next week we are continuing our bug theme and will be getting involved in lots of bug related activities including creating a beautiful new bug display. Please check out our art gallery where the children choose, hang up and display their own work for all to see!
