Ladybirds
This week has been so much fun and we have had a lot of messy play especially with paint! Table top painting and paint and glitter roller painting were particular highlights! We also really enjoyed going on a lovely sunny walk to buy our fish some more resources for their fish tank from Pets at Home in town.
Next week we will be doing alphabet hand prints to further develop our mark making table and we will of course be continuing to explore indoor and outdoor areas with our peers. We will be getting as much fresh air and outside experience as we can!
Butterflies
In Butterflies this week we have been doing masses of mark making using varied materials such as playdough, flour, crazy foam and sand to see what marks we make and also to recognise what marks they are. Also this week we have been making magical music using different items including wonderful basics like pots and pans, wooden spoons and even just using our hands and feet!
We are going to become chefs for the day next week and make a delicious savoury dish in the morning and some yummy cakes in the afternoon. We can’t wait for our cooking adventure! We are also looking forward to having a story day and will be asking the children to bring their favourite books to read. This will all feed into our favourite story area we are creating.
Bumblebees
We have had such fun this week! In particular we loved going to Secretts (Squires) garden centre and visiting the PYO to pick some delicious strawberries! We took the bus to Milford and we had so much fun on the way! We also donned our chefs hats and made some scrummy cakes this week as well as lots of number matching and playing in the garden.
We will be taking a trip to the pet shop next week to buy some fish for our new fish tank in the room! We are all very excited about this! We will also be focusing on physical development and learning how to put our own shoes on. We have a lot of children potty training at the moment so there will also be plenty of talk about potties and giving this a good focus for the children that are ready/ interested.
Dragonflies
In Dragonflies this week we have been exploring lots of textured play, such as mud, flour, water and tea bags! We have been painting stones in the garden and have also been loving a good game of football! We put our culinary skills to the test this week and made delicious cheese straws! The Dragonflies have also been enjoying lots of stories and we’ve been looking particularly at rhythm, rhyme and making funny voices for the different characters. We said a fond farewell to some more Dragonflies this week as they head off for summer holidays before starting school – we wish them all the very best and will miss them so much!
Next week the letter is B and the number is 18. The shape is a triangle and the colour is bronze! We will have a firm focus on looking after yourself and will be talking about teeth and how we should look after them. We will also be creating our own button pictures and lego paintings – watch this space! Additionally, we are looking forward to playing several team games and working together as superheroes to save our friends in dangerous situations…
