Ladybirds
This week ladybirds have had a lot of lovely song-time and starting to learn the actions to accompany the songs! We have also have plenty of fun exploring clough dough and play dough –enjoying the different textures.
Next week we will be starting our Father’s Day cards and presents! We will also be aiming to spend as much time outside in the garden as possible as well as going for some walks – fingers crossed for better weather next week!
Butterflies
We have really enjoyed creating our new Gruffalo area this week and particularly reading the story whilst doing it! Our very own Hungry Caterpillar now hangs suspended from our ceiling and we absolutely loved constructing and creating it this week too! Thinking of our daddies, we have also started our Father’s Day cards too!
Baking is on the agenda next week and we will be cooking up some treats for our Father’s Day presents! We will also have a lot of focus on exploring sensations next week such as hot, cold, hard, soft etc – a sensory filled week awaits us!
Bumblebees
This week we have been making sunflowers to go on our back door which the Bumblebees have loved doing! We have been very summer focussed this week (despite the rain!) and have enjoyed making sunshines, flip flops and our own ice-cream parlour! The littles ones have also loved exploring different textures and having lots of sensory fun with quicksand, gloop and sensory bags!
Next week we will be learning to draw circles and doing lots and lots of colour activities including our favourite – painting mixing! We are also really looking forward to making and decorating dinosaurs!!
Dragonflies
We have spent a lot of time looking at healthy eating this week, drawing our own plates of healthy food and talking about why it’s good to wat healthily. This week we have also loved making musical instruments from our junk modelling! Another highlight of the week was learning to play Jenga, working as a team to build it and taking turns to each remove a block – so much fun! We have also explored emotions this week and how certain things make us feel and how we can make others feel.
Next week the letter is H and the number is 9. The colour of the week is white and the shape is square. We will be re-creating our role play area and turning it into a school with school clothes available for the children to try on, registers and other fun school related things! We will also be looking at people who help us (such as firefighters, police officers, nurses) and creating a new display based on this.
