Ladybirds
This week in Ladybirds we have been having lots of run experimenting with different painting apparatus – stamps, pipe cleaners and paint brushes have been the favourites! The babies have also really enjoyed lots of messy play with angel delight, crazy soap, jelly and pasta! We have also spent a lot of time in the garden getting lots of fresh air and exploring. The Bell House celebrated it’s 4th birthday on Wednesday and we had a wonderful time dressing up, boogying with a mini disco and enjoying a little bit of party food!
Next week, we are planning on even more painting fun to create some lovey new displays as well as spending as much time as possible outside. We are really looking forward to making some delicious banana muffins and yummy cheese straws next week too!
Butterflies
We have been getting very arty crafty this week with pipe cleaner painting, cloud dough making and water painting! We had so much fun celebrating our 4th birthday dressing up and creating a balloon party room with music and crazy foam! The Butterflies have also really enjoyed lots of mark making on our white board this week.
We will be holding a role play day next week when we will be going pretend shopping and having a role-play tea party afterwards. We are really looking forward to going on a walk to see the ducks as part of our new duck theme – we have some lovely displays based around the duck nursery rhyme.
Bumblebees
This week we have had lots of fun celebrating our 4th birthday! We all dressed up as either pirates or princesses and the Bumblebees loved making treasure maps, pirate hats and princess masks. There has been a LOT of water play outside this week (and subsequently quite a few soggy children!) playing pouring and also watering the plants in the garden.
Next week we will be starting a new display board and also will be learning about different shapes within the outside environment. The children are very interested in firefighter role play at the moment so we will be making some fire pictures next week too.
Dragonflies
We have had a truly fantastic week in Dragonflies especially celebrating our 4th birthday by dressing up as our favourite book characters and playing lots of fun games! We have been in the garden a lot this week playing football and creating our own penalties as well as gardening and playing in the sandpit.
Next week the letter is 0 and the number is 14. The colour is dark blue and the shape is a pentagon. We will be enjoying a lot of sensory play next week and will have the foam dough, sensory table and bubbles out to experiment with and explore. We will also be looking at symmetry where we will make butterflies using glitter and paint. The Dragonflies have taken an interest in tying show laces so we will have threading and forming bows as an activity. We are also really looking forward to baking some jam tarts next week!
