Ladybirds
This week we have been making the most of the weather by spending lots of time in our outside areas! We had so much fun splashing in the water tray with the boats and pots and the babies also especially enjoyed mark making in different environments. Messy play has also been hugely enjoyed this week, in particular the roller painting, stamp painting and printing and hand painting. We have also refreshed some of our lovely displays so do come in and have a look!
We shall be having lots of sensory fun next week as well as focus on physical development and spending time clambering over and exploring all the soft play equipment, tunnels and tents! There will also be the usual healthy dose of messy play!
Butterflies
It has been an exceptionally sweet week here in Butterflies and we have been spending a lot of time looking after our toy babies – dressing them, feeding them and putting them to bed. The sunshine has once again been wonderful and we have made the most of being outside as much as we could and have especially enjoyed outdoor water play! We have finished our “Spring Has Sprung” display which includes some beautiful sparkly flowers and little jumping lambs! Another highlight in particular has been discovering soapy foam and covering our hair and our carers!!!
Next week brings as much outside time as possible, exploring our outdoor environment and playing with the water, sand and equipment. We will also have lots of focus and fun on sensory development and physical development.
Bumblebees
With the lovely sunshine we’ve had this week we have been enjoying spending masses of time outside playing in the garden. The sand pit and water tray remain firm favourites! We have also been learning about where fruit and vegetables come from and how they grow and we are creating a wonderful display board from this. We have also had a focus this week on road safety.
We are really looking forward to making fruit kebabs next week, carrying on our fruit and vegetable theme. We have planned to do lots of activities outside and we will be learning about number and shapes and matching them up using different methods.
Dragonflies
We have had lots of fun in the sun this week and have been spray bottle painting, watering the plants, painting pebbles and also doing chalk rubbings to create different textures in the garden! As well as lots and lots of messy play this week we have also enjoyed putting on and playing with puppet shows! There has been a strong focus on developing fine motor skills with our threading activities throughout the week and we have got our creative juices flowing with storytelling fun too!
Next week the letter of the week is T and the number is 3. The colour is yellow and the shape is a hexagon. We are really looking forward to making our own musical instruments, baking yummy cheese straws and having lots of fun with parachute games! We will also be playing as many games outside as we can (hide and seek, stuck in the mud, duck duck goose!) and we will also be texture exploring with bubble wrap, cornflakes and paint and conducting some exciting and engaging science experiments!
