Ladybirds

This week we have had a changed some of our displays and created a lovely new nursery rhyme theme – do come up and take a look! We have also been welcoming more new babies to the room and making them feel at home – we love making new friends!

Next week we are going focus on sensory play quite heavily including exploring lots of different textures. We will also be enjoying some outings going on some of the last of our summer walks before Autumn starts to kick in.

Butterflies

We have created our new jungle theme display this week which is lots of fun! We have also been spending plenty of time exploring our senses with crazy foam and lotion play – such messy amusement!

Next week we are really looking forward to getting creative in the kitchen and baking up some goodies to stimulate the children’s learning about our seeing, smelling and touch (texture) senses!

Bumblebees

This week we have been making nature pictures using plants and leaves from the garden  – we have displayed these in the room. We have been enjoying an enormous amount of water play both inside and outside, particularly enjoying playing  and pouring with different sized jugs. We also had so much fun painting cardboard boxes outside and turning them into dens to play in!

We are very excited about our role play activities next week where we will be pretending to go camping and playing in our tents! We are also planning lots of number activities too as well as hopefully making the most of the last of the summer sunshine outside in the garden.

Dragonflies

It has been so much fun in Dragonflies this week! We have particularly enjoyed ice cube painting, chalk drawing on the garden ground, making animal masks, making magnificent drawing on the interactive white board, having egg and spoon races and also learning about rainbow fish .

Next week we are going to use the bottom of plastic bottles to paint with! We will also be having lots of creative fun with bubble painting, shadow drawings and more chalk rubbings outside. We will also be making our own hats for our new role play which will be up next week as well as looking at numbers and making new number caterpillars. We will also be focusing on shapes and going on a shape hunt to bring our learning to life.
