Ladybirds
The babies had lots of fun using some new painting stamps this week! Developing their grasping skills, they have really enjoyed using these exciting new implements to make some beautiful prints and pictures.
Next week, we will be starting to celebrate Chinese New Year by creating some monkeys out of the babies little handprints and we’ll be making a proud display of all their wonderful monkey creations.
Butterflies
It has been a very creative week in Butterflies! We have made a wildlife corner and the children have been getting excited choosing which animal they would like to paint. We have also been having lots of fun with the alphabet and have made each letter out of their hand prints.
We will begin our Valentine’s Day preparations next week and these will include creating some lovely cards and pictures for a Valentine’s display!
Bumblebees
This week we have been exploring the weather and getting creative making clouds and rain drops with paint and collage pieces. We had lots of fun celebrating Australia Day painting the Australian flag and we read a wonderful story about a kangaroo with a poorly pouch which the children loved.
Next week brings fun in the form of preparing for Valentine’s Day! We’ll be making cards and secret presents for our mummies and daddies – shhhhh!
Dragonflies
It’s been a jolly busy and varied week in Dragonflies cooking scones, paper mache-ing balloons to create planets, making music out of natural resources, creating and decorating monkey masks for Chinese New Year and of course celebrating Australia Day with a visit from Katie the Kookaburra!
Our letter for the week next week is L and the number will be 16. The colour of the week will be gold and the shape will be stars. We will also be busy making Valentine’s treats and cards, cooking delicious carrot cake and learning some simple Chinese words for Chinese New Year!
